Thank you for helping North York General Hospital support women’s health care with Heels to Heal!
On Sunday, May 2 the Heels to Heal walk-a-thon took place at Fairview Mall which consisted of lapping around the upper level of Fairview five times in “heels”! (approx. 5 km). The event was in support of women’s health care at North York General Hospital and thanks to your generosity and our volunteers and sponsors, we were able to raise over $22,000, exceeding our goal!
Fun for everyone! Women and men came to strut their stuff to support this worthy cause– in “heels”! If you are 16 and older we encourage you to participate next year, as long as you wear your “heels”! Come with your mother, daughter, sister, or friends and register alone or as a team!
Everyone’s a Winner! The walker with the highest level of pledges was awarded $1,000, 2nd prize was $500 and 3rd prize was $250 in Cadillac Fairview shop! cards® gift cards! Other amazing prizes were bid on at the silent auction including mega makeovers, gym memberships, shoe and fashion shopping sprees to name a few.
During the reception that took place after the walk, giveaways to our participants included a diamond pendant and several generous gift certificates from our retail sponsors. Participants and volunteers enjoyed free beverages and breakfast (sponsored by Starbucks, Shoppers Drug Mart and Michel’s Baguette) as well as appetizers at the reception sponsored by Spring Rolls. Participants who raised over $60 in donations received a swag bag filled with gifts valued at over $130!
